Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand Leads Thai Universities Professors to meet with Director of Center for Advanced Materials Studies of Qatar University

On 29 August 2024, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singh Intrachooto, Professor of Builing Innovation of Kasetsart University and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prakit Sukyai, Head of Cellulose for Future Materials and Technologies Unit of Kasetsart University, was invited to meet with Prof. Dr. Mohammad R. Irshidat, Director of Center for Advanced Materials (CAM), Qatar University (QU), Dr. Peter Kasak, Technical Manager of CAM, Dr. Mohammad K. Hassan, Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Dr. Daniel Roberto Ochoa, Engineering Affairs Consultant of Recycling and Waste Treatment Department, Ministry of Municipality, at QU Research Complex.
 
During the meeting, both sides engaged in a productive discussion on enhancing academic collaboration in the development of materials from waste products across various sectors of the Qatari economy, including agriculture, construction and the petrochemical industry. They also explored avenues for cooperation in material sciences between the two universities. Additionally, the Thai delegation visited the facilities and laboratories of the CAM during their visit, gaining further insights into ongoing research and technological advancements.
 
This initiative underscores the Royal Thai Embassy’s commitment to promoting Thailand’s research and innovation efforts and strengthening academic cooperation between educational institutions in Thailand and Qatar. Such collaboration is a fundamental foundation for the bilateral relationship across various dimensions, including political, socio-economic development, and people to people connections.
