Non-Immigrant "B" (Travelling to Thailand for business purposes e.g. meeting, exhibition - single and multiple entries)

 

Required Documents

1. An application form (download here) completed in full (TYPED ONLY) and signed by applicants.

2. Two passport-sized photographs (4x6cm) taken within the previous 6 months

3. Original passport valid for travelling to Thailand at least 12 months

4. 1 Photocopy of passport or travel document.

5. 1 Photocopy of Residency Permit Card: signed by the applicant (Original Residency Permit Card of the applicant must be presented to the official of the Visa Section when applying for visa).

6. Original Letter of Certification in English:  from the sponsor / company / or relating working organization stating applicant’s salary and allowances. In case from company, please also attach the valid establishment card (computer card) of the company.  

7. Invitation letter from a company in Thailand

8. Business license of the inviting company in Thailand with the company’s stamp and authorised person’s signature

9. Photocopy of airline booking and hotel booking in Thailand

Non-Immigrant  "B" (Employment / Working in Thailand (except teacher and academic staff) / sport-related activities - single entry only)

 

Required Documents

3. Original passport valid for travelling to Thailand at least 12 months

4. 1 Photocopy of passport or travel document.

5. 1 Photocopy of Residency Permit Card: signed by the applicant (Original Residency Permit Card of the applicant must be presented to the official of the Visa Section when applying for visa).

6. Original Letter of Certification in English:  from the sponsor / company / or relating working organization stating applicant’s work termination in Qatar.  In case from company, please also attach the valid establishment card (computer card) of the company.

7. Business license of the inviting company in Thailand with the company’s stamp and authorised person’s signature (issued by the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand)

8. Company profile or details of business operations

9. Original Letter confirming employment details from an employer in Thailand signed by authorised person 

10. WP3 (an approval letter from the Ministry of Labour of Thailand) [In case that visa applicant is currently working in a company in Thailand and need to renew Non-B visa, a work permit will be required instead of WP3 (Japanese is waived from the requirement to submit WP3 (application for work permit).]

One Stop Service Centre for Visas and Work Permits :


The One Stop Service Centre for Visas and Work Permits was established on 1 July 1997 by authority of the Regulations of the Office of Prime Minister promulgated on 30 June 1997. The objective of this centre is to simplify visa extension and permit issuance procedures to create a good investment environment. It aims to facilitate applications of visa extension and work permits (e.g., stay permission, re-entry permit, work permit). The Centre is located on Chamchuree Square Building, Floor 18th, Phatumwan, Bangkok.

Foreigners who are eligible to apply for visa extension and work permits at the One Stop Service Centre are:

             1.  Foreigner who is an executive or expert with privileges accorded to them by the following laws:
                      - Investment Promotion Act B.E. 2520 (1977)
                      - Petroleum Act B.E. 2514 (1971)
                      - Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand Act B.E. 2522 (1979)
            2.   Foreigner who is an investor.
                      -  If investing not less than 2 million Baht, he or she will be granted a 1 year permit.
                      -  If investing not less than 10 million Baht, he or she will be granted a 2 year permit.
            3.   Foreigner who is an executive or expert.
                      -  Foreigner’s associated company should be registered with capital or possess asset of not less than 30 million Baht.
            4.   Foreigner who is member of the foreign press must present a letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a copy of an ID Press Card issued by the Department of Public Relations.
            5.   Foreigner who is a researcher or developer on science and technology.  
            6.   Foreigner who is employed in a branch office of an overseas bank, foreign banking office of an overseas bank, provincial foreign banking office of an overseas bank or a representative office of foreign bank in which all offices are certified by the Bank of Thailand.
            7.   Foreigner who works on the necessary and urgent basis for a period of no longer than 15 days.
            8.   Foreigner who is an official of the representative office for foreign juristic persons concerning the International Trading Business and Regional Office of Transnational Corporation in accordance to the Foreign Business Act B.E. 2542 (1999).
            9.   Foreigner who is an expert on information technology.
           10.  Foreigner who works at regional operating headquarters.

 

Non-Immigrant Type B (working as a teacher / employed as an academic staff - single entry only)

 

Visa regulation of Thailand concerning the visa applicant from English native speaking countries who wishes to apply for an appropriate visa to work as a teacher in Thailand both on employment basis and voluntary basis is as follows :


1. On Employment Basis

      Required documents

  1. An application form completed in full (TYPED ONLY) and signed by applicants. Download here
  2. Two passport-sized photographs (4x6cm) taken within the previous 6 months
  3. Original passport valid with validity not less than 6 months
  4. 1 Photocopy of passport or travel document.
  5. 1 Photocopy of Residency Permit Card: signed by the applicant (Original Residency Permit Card of the applicant must be presented to the official of the Visa Section when applying for visa).
  6. Academic qualification certificate
  7. Letter confirming employment details from schools/universities signed by authorised person together with a copy of ID card or passport of the signer
  8. Copy of school/university’s registration
  9. Approval letter from concerned authority under the Ministry of Education
  10. Criminal record issued by the country of nationality or residence (verification shall not be older than three months and notarized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar or applicant’s diplomatic/consular mission).
  11. Financial evidence e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, proof of sponsorship from a third party
  12. Photocopy of airline booking and hotel booking in Thailand

Remarks

            If the applicant has appropriate qualification, the Embassy will issue a non-immigrant visa, type “B”, single entry with three months validity. With this kind of visa, the applicant will be permitted to stay in Thailand not more than 90 days.

            Once the applicant arrives Thailand, the education institution will apply a teacher license at the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of University Affairs and also apply for work permit at the Ministry of Labour for the applicant. The work permit will be issued within 7 working days.

            After being granted teacher license and work permit, the applicant is required to submit teacher license, work permit, employment contract and employment certificate to the Immigration Bureau in Bangkok in order to apply for visa extension to cover the term of employment.


2. On Voluntary Basis

            The applicant must apply for a non-immigrant visa, type “O” at the Embassy. The applicant is required to submit an official recommendation letter from the organisation in Thailand to the Embassy. Information on the term of voluntary work of the applicant in Thailand have to be provided for the Embassy’s consideration.

            If the applicant has appropriate qualification, the Embassy will issue a non-immigrant visa, type “O”, single entry with three month validity to the applicant within two working days. With this kind of visa, the applicant will be permitted to stay in Thailand not more than 90 days. In case the applicant wishes to extend the duration of stay in Thailand, the applicant is required to apply with the Immigration Bureau in Thailand by enclosing an official introduction letter of the Organization in Thailand.

 ***Please be informed that a foreigner who is holding a Thai tourist visa is not permitted to work as an English teacher in Thailand, even on a voluntary basis.***

 

Non-Immigrant "B" (Internship (non-curricular internship) - single entry only)

 Required documents

  1. An application form completed in full (TYPED ONLY) and signed by applicants. Download here
  2. Two passport-sized photographs (4x6cm) taken within the previous 6 months
  3. Original passport valid with validity not less than 6 months
  4. 1 Photocopy of passport or travel document.
  5. 1 Photocopy of Residency Permit Card: signed by the applicant (Original Residency Permit Card of the applicant must be presented to the official of the Visa Section when applying for visa).
  6. Business registration and business license of the company in Thailand
  7. Letter confirming the internship/participation from the company
  8. Financial evidence e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, proof of sponsorship from a third party
  9. Photocopy of airline booking and hotel booking in Thailand

Note:

1. The Royal Thai Embassy reserves the rights to request for other additional documents, depending on the type of Non-Immigrant Visa.

2. The document to be submitted for non-immigrant visa application is contingent upon necessities and appropriateness of purposes stated in the application form.

3. Applicant who do not have home/ residence country in Qatar is advised to apply for a Non-Immigrant visa only at the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in their home/residence country or at the designated Royal Thai Embassy. Therefore, travellers are advised to contact the nearest Thai Embassy or Consulate-General to find out where they may apply for a visa to Thailand before departure.
