NON-IMMIGRANT VISA Category "ED" (Education)        

This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom to study, to come on a work study tour or observation tour, to participate in projects, seminars or internship programme, to attend a conference or training course, and to study as a foreign Buddhist monk.

1. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

• Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months. The validity of 18 months is required for one year visa application
• Recent passport-sized photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm) of the applicant taken within the past 6 months
• 1 Photocopy of Residency Permit Card (QID): signed by the applicant (Original Residency Permit Card of the applicant must be presented to the official of the Visa Section when applying for visa).
• Health insurance covering medical expenses in Thailand including a minimum coverage of 100,000 USD for COVID-19 (must be specifically mentioned). Travellers are advised to purchase their health insurance which meets Thailand's entry criteria here: http://covid19.tgia.org/ 
• Evidence of adequate finance (equivalent of 20,000 THB per person and 40,000 THB per family)
• Confirmed ticket paid in full 
• Transcript / Letter of acceptance or invitation from the concerned schools/universities or institutes/ companies and a copy of the identity card/passport of the person who signs the letter of acceptance/invitation.
• Official Note certifying the purpose of travel from school/universities or institutes/ Thai Government Agencies concerned/ companies                                 

NB.: - Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary.
NB.: - Copies of company documents must be signed by Board of Directors and affixed the seal of the company.
NB.: - In the absence of a required document, a letter explaining the unavailability of such document must be provided.               

2. VISA FEE by CASH ONLY (non refundable)

Single entry : QR 300
Multiple entries : QR 750

3. VALIDITY OF A VISA

• Single-entry visa is valid for three months.
• Multiple-entry visa is valid for three months up to one year.

4. PERIOD OF STAY

The holders of this type of visa are initially granted a period of stay in Thailand not exceeding 90 days unless otherwise instructed by the Office of Immigration Bureau.

5. EXTENSION OF STAY

Those qualified persons can obtain an additional one year stay permit counting from the date of entry in the Kingdom pertaining to the Office of the Immigration Bureau's regulations on extension of stay. The extension of stay is at the discretion of the Immigration officer.

NB.: Applicants wishing to stay in the Kingdom longer than 90 days have to file their application either at the Thai consular mission aboard or at the Office of Immigration Bureau in Bangkok located on Government Center B, Chaengwattana Soi 7, Laksi, Bangkok 10210, Tel 0-2141-9889 (or website at (http://www.immgration.go.th). The consular officer must refer the case to the Office of Immigration Bureau for approval. Upon receiving approval, the consular officer may issue the visa as instructed by the Bureau
