On 4 December 2019, the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha organized a reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and Thailand’s Father’s Day 5 December 2019 at Grand Hyatt Doha Hotel. H.E. Mr. Nathapol Khantahiran, Ambassador of Thailand to the State of Qatar, hosted the reception. Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari Minister of Public Health of Qatar and H.E. Mr. Yousuf bin Mohammed Al Othman Fakhroo, Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs of Qatar, attended the reception as the Guests of Honour representing the government of the State of Qatar. The reception was also attended by many dignitaries, officials and representatives of the Qatari government and private sectors, Ambassadors and members of diplomatic corps, academics, local journalists and Thai community in Qatar. Approximately 250 guests attended the reception.

At this occasion, H.E. Mr. Nathapol Khantahiran, Ambassador of Thailand to the State of Qatar, delivered his speech paying tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, and made his remarks highlighting the cordial bilateral relations between Thailand and Qatar which will be 40th Anniversary of the diplomatic relations next year on 7 August 2020.  Thailand and Qatar have witnessed progress in our relations ranging from frequent exchanges of royal visits and high-level government representatives, to cooperation in politics, economy, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchanges. The Ambassador also underscored Thailand’s economy and its potential, as well as the success of Thailand as the Chair of ASEAN in 2019.
