Ambassador of Thailand presented books to Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar and Qatar National Library

On 15 August 2016, His Excellency Mr. Soonthorn Chaiyindeepum, Ambassador of Thailand, met with Dr. Akel I. Kahera, Dean of Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar to discuss the possibility of cooperation between the University and arts and design universities in Thailand. Over the past 3 years, the University brought the students to Thailand to study Thai arts and culture as well as conducted social service projects in Thailand. The University is of the view that Thailand is a country with rich and unique cultures, therefore by bringing the students to Thailand would enrich their creativity which is an important element of an artist. The trips to Thailand were successful for the past years and the University look forward to the next visit. On this occasion, His Excellency Mr. Soonthorn Chaiyindeepum also presented books about Sufficiency Economy Philosophy of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, history of Thailand, Thai art, design, architecture and culture for the learning of students.
 
On 22 August 2016, His Excellency Mr. Soonthorn Chaiyindeepum, Ambassador of Thailand, visited Qatar Foundation Visitor Center where he was briefed about the objective and how Qatar Foundation plays its role as an educational leader of Qatar. Later, His Excellency Mr. Soonthorn Chaiyindeepum was also given a brief tour of the Education City. On this occasion, His Excellency he also presented a number of books about H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand and His Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, history of Thailand, Buddhism, Thai arts and architecture, Thai food, tourism and Thai language learning books to add to the library’s collection once it's officially opened for general public.
