On 4 August 2023, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, participated in the weekly friendly football match organized by the Doha Ambassadors Football Club. This event takes place every Friday evening and features a variety of Ambassadors representing diverse nations. This week’s match was held at ASPIRE MPH 1 Aspire Zone, with participants hailing from Sweden, Finland, Nicaragua, Peru, Haiti, Central African Republic, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Malaysia and Brunei. This initiative fosters the cultivation of friendly ties and strengthens the bonds between various diplomatic missions in Qatar. Furthermore, it aligns with Qatar's commitment to sports diplomacy, showcasing its sports infrastructure and facilities and its aspiration to host forthcoming prestigious global sporting events. Sports development is one of the many areas of cooperation in which Thailand could collaborate with Qatar to learn best practices and further pursue mutual interests.
