On 29 January 2024, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar attended a dinner on the occasion of H.E. Mr. Saman Manan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the State of Qatar with Residence in Kuwait, presented his credentials to His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar on 28 January 2024. The dinner was attended by Ambassadors of ASEAN member states, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
ASEAN, or the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, is a political and economic union of 10 Southeast Asian countries that consist of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Currently, there are 7 ASEAN member Embassies located in Qatar, representing Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam and there is the ASEAN Committee in Doha (ACD) which was organized as means to pursue cooperation and mutual interests of ASEAN member states with with Qatar in political, security, economy and social issues.
