On 14 December 2024, the ASEAN Committee in Doha, in collaboration with the Doha Environmental Actions Project (DEAP), organized a clean-up activity at the Singing Sand Dunes. H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, along with embassy staff and their families, joined this meaningful initiative alongside approximately 100 participants. The event brought together ambassadors, embassy personnel, and their families from seven ASEAN member states represented in Doha: Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Collectively, the participants removed 260 kilograms of waste from the site, contributing to the preservation of Qatar’s unique natural heritage.

This activity aimed to promote awareness of sustainable environmental practices while fostering closer ties among ASEAN embassies in Doha. It reflects the commitment of ASEAN member states to the principles of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community, which prioritize improving the quality of life through sustainable and environmentally friendly development
