On 28 February 2024, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, participated in the 69th ASEAN Committee in Doha (ACD) Meeting, joined by Ambassadors from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam. On this occasion, H.E. Ms. Lillibeth V. Pono, Ambassador of the Philippines to the State of Qatar and outgoing Chairperson of the ACD, officially handed over the Chairmanship for 2024 to H.E. Mr. Wong Chow Ming, Ambassador of Singapore to the State of Qatar. Moreover, officials of the embassies of ASEAN member states, as members of the Technical Working Group of the ACD, were also in attendance.

Established in 2012, the ACD aims to enhance ASEAN awareness and strengthen cooperation between ASEAN and Qatar through various initiatives and activities. In 2023, notable activities included the ASEAN Food Festival, publication on ASEAN Day in the local news outlets, ASEAN Community Sports Day, Book donations to Qatar National Library, and a tree-planting initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipality of Qatar.
