On 18 September 2023, Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, presided over the opening ceremony of the ASEAN Food Festival 2023 at Isaan Restaurant, Grand Hyatt Doha Hotel. Thailand served as the main coordinator in collaboration with fellow ASEAN embassies, including Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. The festival coincided with the reception to commemorate the 56^th anniversary of ASEAN Day hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines, which currently chairs the ASEAN Committee in Doha 2023. Distinguished guests from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Qatar Foundation, Qatar University, Aspire Academy, as well as spouses of ASEAN Ambassadors and officials from ASEAN Embassies, attended the event.

 During the occasion, H.E. Ambassador of Thailand highlighted that the festival aims not only to showcase ASEAN's culinary diversity but also to promote cultural understanding and strengthen the bonds between Qatar and ASEAN nations. H.E. Ms. Lillibeth V. Pono, Philippines Ambassador, emphasized the significance of ASEAN and her commitment to strengthening ASEAN-Qatar relations.
