On 20 December 2023, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, Mr. Trairong Wan-ar-ree, Minister Counsellor for Commercial Affairs of the Thai Trade Office Tehran (accredited to Qatar) and Embassy officials paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Rashid Bin Hamad Al Athba, 2nd Vice Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), to discuss ways to enhance economic cooperation and explore the possibility of organizing a visit by Thai business delegations to Qatar.
During the meeting, H.E. Ambassador commended the prominent role of QCCI in promoting tangible economic interactions between Thailand and Qatar. He also encouraged members of QCCI to increase their investments in Thailand and to lead Qatari business delegations to Thailand, especially at the upcoming trade fairs in Thailand in 2024. The Vice Chairman of QCCI expressed readiness to support the Embassy and the Thai Trade Office, particularly in facilitating meeting with QCCI members, organizing business matching events, increasing exchange of visits, and promoting trade and investment promotion activities.
