Ambassador of Thailand Hosts a Working Lunch with Chief of Staff to Commanding Officers of the Royal Thai Navy at DIMDEX 2024

On 6 March 2024, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, hosted a working lunch to honour Admiral Phiset Khankhang, Chief of Staff to Commanding Officers of the Royal Thai Navy, and Captain Kiatiyut Tiansuwan, Deputy Director of the Naval Strategic Studies Center of the Naval Education Department of the Royal Thai Navy, during their participation in the 8th Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition & Conference (DIMDEX 2024), held from 4 to 6 March 2024, which Mr. Kittithep Devahastin, Deputy Head of Mission, on behalf of the Royal Thai Embassy, attended the luncheon as well as represented the Thai delegation in the opening ceremony of DIMDEX 2024 on 4 March 2024. The ceremony was presided over by Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, Deputy Amir of the State of Qatar, with representatives from over 90 countries in attendance.

DIMDEX, organized by the Qatar Armed Forces every two years under the patronage of the Amir of the State of Qatar, had its 2024 edition themed "Igniting the Future of Maritime Security and Beyond" at the Qatar National Convention Centre in Doha. The conference served as a platform for international collaboration on maritime security, showcasing innovations and technologies in maritime defense. With the participation of over 200 private sector companies, the event attracted more than 350,000 visitors.
