On 14 March 2024, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, paid a courtesy call on Mrs. Wasan Abdullah Al Baker, Director of Food Safety Department, and Mr. Khalid Yousef Al Sulaiti, Head of Ports Health and Food Control Section, Ministry of Public Health of the State of Qatar. During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Thailand and Qatar on food safety, recognizing its significance as an essential component of food security and integral to the daily lives of people.

Mrs. Al Baker expressed the Department’s readiness for potential collaboration in knowledge exchange and capacity-building between the two countries, particularly focusing on technology and innovations concerning food safety standards in agricultural and food products. H.E. Ambassador commended Qatar's advancements in food safety standards and regulations and reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to facilitating the exchange of technological expertise and best practices for the mutual interests of Thailand and Qatar.
