On 28 January 2024, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, met with Mr. Saad Bin Ali Al Karji, Chairman of Qatar Tourism, to discuss and enhance cooperation in the tourism sector between Thailand and Qatar. During the meeting, H.E. Ambassador extended congratulations to the Chairman for assuming office in October 2023 and commended Qatar for its successful tourism promotion efforts, resulting in over 3 million tourists in 2023. Chairman of Qatar Tourism expressed his readiness to increase collaboration between Thailand and Qatar across various dimensions of the tourism industry, particularly emphasizing the opportunity to boost the number of Thai tourists visiting Qatar and to exchange best practices in tourism and hospitality from Thailand.

The Royal Thai Embassy reaffirms its commitment to promoting robust cooperation in tourism and elevating tourism activities between the two countries as a vital component in strengthening  people-to-people relations, which forms the foundation for Thai-Qatari relations.
