On 4 March 2024, Qatar Organ Donation Center organized the Celebration of Life 2023 event to commemorate the success of the Qatar Organ Donation Center and the developments in organ donation over the past year. The event also honored the personnel who played a significant role in promoting organ transplantation as well as paid tribute to the generosity of organ donors in Qatar. H.E. Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, Minister of Public Health of the State of Qatar, presided over the event. In 2023, a Thai family donated the organs of a deceased relative to the Qatar Organ Donation Center. That year, there were a total of 134 organ transplants, involving 93 donors. Additionally, there were 524,487 registered organ donors in Qatar, equivalent to 25% of the population. In this occasion, Ms. Yanisa Thanomrod, Second Secretary, attended the event as the representative of the Embassy in remembrance of the Thai organ donor and in recognition of Qatar Organ Donation Center’s valuable contribution to society.
