On 25 June 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha, in collaboration with Ministry of Municipality of Qatar and Kasetsart University, presented Thailand’s knowledge and best practices in innovation, sustainability, and the circular economy at the 5th Recycling Towards Sustainability Conference & Exhibition (RTS 2025). Associate Professor Dr. Prakit Sukyai, Head of the Special Research Unit on Cellulose Materials, Faculty of Agro-Industry, Kasetsart University, delivered a virtual presentation titled “Plant-Based Cosmetic Model for Upcycling Agricultural Biomass into Sustainable Nanocellulose and Bioactive Compounds.” His presentation focused on the development and application of cellulose-based materials derived from agricultural by-products to produce sustainable skincare products.
RTS 2025 was held in Doha from 25 to 26 June 2025 highlighted the latest technologies and best practices in waste management and sustainability, promoted circular economy principles and raised awareness of the importance of recycling. It also served as a platform to foster cooperation between the public and private stakeholders, with over 200 participants from Qatar and abroad.
Thailand’s participation in RTS 2025 reaffirms its strong commitment to supporting the implementation of Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy (2024–2030), advancing the goals of Thailand’s Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model, which promotes inclusive and innovation-driven sustainable growth. Thailand’s participation in RTS 2025 was adjusted accordingly due to regional circumstances.
