On 20 February 2024, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, and Embassy officials, received H.E. Mr. Wanmuhamadnoor Matha, President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Thailand and his delegation at the Hamad International Airport, during their transit to participate in the 14th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Association (APA) in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan. In this occasion, H.E. Ambassador and H.E. Matha exchanged views on overall bilateral relations between Thailand and Qatar, regional situation and ways to strengthen cooperation between parliamentary bodies of Thailand and Qatar.
Established in 2006, the APA is an international forum of parliaments with members consisting of parliaments and parliamentary bodies from 43 countries in Asia. Its objectives are to promote peace, dialogue and potential cooperation between member parliaments to promote development and mutual interests.
