On 9 April 2025, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, met with Mr. Yousef Al-Hamar, Director of the Department of Wildlife Development, and Mr. Jassim Lari, Head of the Marine Wildlife Section, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC), to exchange views on strengthening cooperation in the conservation of the environment and marine and coastal resources, in alignment with the sustainable development priorities of both countries. H.E. Ambassador commended Qatar’s proactive efforts in marine protection and its initiatives to advance sustainable eco-tourism. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships and knowledge-sharing between Thailand and Qatar to yield tangible and mutually beneficial outcomes.

As part of these efforts, the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha, in collaboration with MoECC, the Earthna Center for a Sustainable Future, and Qatar University, will co-host a seminar titled “From Local to Global: Thailand’s Sustainability and Eco-Tourism Journeys” on 23 April 2025. The event will be held on the sidelines of the Earthna Summit 2025 – Qatar’s largest bi-annual international conference on sustainability. The seminar will serve as a platform for Thai experts to share insights and experiences in environmental protection, sustainable development, and eco-tourism, while also strengthening the bilateral network between Thailand and Qatar in this important field.
