Non-Immigrant O-A visa is issued to applicants aged 50 years and over who wish to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 1 year without the intention of working. Holder of this type of visa is allowed to stay in Thailand for 1 year. Employment of any kind is strictly prohibited.

Duration of Visa Process: E-Visa processing time is up to 10 working days and up to 14 working days if required documents are incomplete.

Eligibility

  1. Applicant must be aged 50 years and over (on the day of submitting application)
  2. Applicant not prohibited from entering the Kingdom as provided by the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979)
  3. Having no criminal record in Thailand and the country of the applicant’s nationality or residence
  4. Having the nationality of or residence in the country where application is submitted
  5. Not having prohibitive diseases (Leprosy, Tuberculosis, drug addiction, Elephantiasis, third phase of Syphilis) as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 B.E. 2535

 

Required Documents:

  1. Biodata page of Passport or Travel Document (Passport/travel document must have validity of more than 6 months on travel date)
  2. Photograph taken within the last six months
  3. Document indicating current location (Valid Residency Permit Card/QID)
  4. Travel booking confirmation
  5. Curriculum vitae (Profile information)
  6. Financial evidence: showing monthly income of no less than 65,000 THB or having the current balance of 800,000 THB e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings
  7. A medical certificate issued from the country where the application is submitted, showing no prohibitive diseases as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No.14 (B.E. 2535) Certificate shall be older than three months. Medical Certificate Form
  8. Health Insurance issued by a Thai or foreign insurer for general illnesses, including COVID-19, with the insured sum of no less than 3,000,000 THB. List of participating Thai insurance companies: https://longstay.tgia.org
  9. Foreign Insurance Certificate as stipulated by the Office of Insurance Commission and Health Insurance of Thailand, which must be completed, signed and stamped by the insurance company. Foreign Insurance Certificate Form 
  10. Certificate of criminal record clearance from the country of nationality or the country where the application is submitted.

Important Note:

  1. Visa fee is not refundable.
  2. At the port of entry, foreigners entering Thailand under the Non-Immigrant Visa O-A visa category must provide proof of sufficient finances.
  3. Embassy staff/employees are not allowed to fill out any visa application form.
  4. The Embassy reserves the right to approve or disapprove visa application without any prejudice.
  5. The granting of visa is only a pre-entry clearance. It is not a permission to enter Thailand. Immigration authorities at the port of entry still reserve the right to refuse the entry into Thailand of any travellers with valid visa issued.
  6. Applicant from the Specified Passport Holders who do not have home/ residence country in Qatar is advised to apply for a Non-Immigrant visa only at the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in their home/residence country or at the designated Royal Thai Embassy. Therefore, travellers are advised to contact the nearest Thai Embassy or Consulate-General to find out where they may apply for a visa to Thailand before departure.
