TOURIST VISA EXEMPTION
1. FOR VISIT OF UP TO 60 DAYS
Nationals of 93 countries and territories are eligible for visa exemption, permitting stays of up to 60 days for the purpose of tourism and short-term business engagements in Thailand. This stay can be extended for an additional period not exceeding 30 days, at the discretion of the immigration officer. Those who wish to extend their stay in Thailand for different purposes than the above are required apply for the appropriate visa type in Thailand before the end of the permitted period of stay. (Effective 15 July 2024)
Eligible countries and territories: Albania, Andora, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bhutan, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, China, Colombia, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Korea (ROK), Kosovo, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco, Mongolia, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkiye, Ukraine, UAE, UK, USA, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Vietnam
2. FOR VISIT OF UP TO 90 DAYS
Nationals of 5 countries and territories are not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 90 days on each visit.
Eligible countries and territories (bilateral agreement arrangment): Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Korea (ROK), Peru
3. FOR VISIT OF UP TO 14 DAYS
Nationals of 2 countries and territories are not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 14 days on each visit.
Eligible countries and territories (bilateral agreement arrangement): Cambodia, Myanmar
4. TOURIST VISA EXEMPTION SCHEMES
**Tourist Visa Exemption for holders of India and Taiwan passport/travel document from 11 May - 11 November 2024** The Royal Thai Government has approved a tourist visa exemption scheme for holders of ordinary passport or travel documents of India and Taiwan to enter and stay in Thailand for a period not exceeding 30 days. The scheme will be effective from 11 May - 11 November 2024.
**Tourist Visa Exemption for holders of Kazakhstan passport/travel document from 1 March 2024 - 31 August 2024** The Royal Thai Government has approved a tourist visa exemption scheme for holders of ordinary passport or travel documents of Kazakhstan to enter and stay in Thailand for a period not exceeding 30 days. The scheme will be effective from 1 March 2024 - 31 August 2024.
**Tourist Visa Exemption for holders of Russian passport/travel document from 1 May - 31 July 2024** The Royal Thai Government has approved a unilateral and temporary tourist visa exemption scheme for holders of Russian passports or travel documents, entering Thailand from 1 May - 31 July 2024, to be able to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 60 days.
VISA EXEMPTION CONDITIONS
1. Tourist visa exemptions do not apply to foreigners holding Travel Document for Aliens issued by the above countries.
2. Entering the Kingdom through land/sea boarder checkpoints under Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme is permitted only twice in a calendar year, except nationals of Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and Singapore who may enter Thailand through such checkpoints more than twice in a calendar year.
3. Travellers entering Thailand under the tourist visa exemption schemes must possess adequate cash of or equivalent to 20,000 Baht per person or 40,000 Baht per family.
VISA-ON-ARRIVAL
Nationals of 31 countries and territories may apply for a Visa-On-Arrival (VOA) at Thailand’s immigration checkpoints, allowing a stay of up to 15 days for tourism purposes. (Effective 15 July 2024)
Eligible countries and territories: Armenia, Belarus, Bhutan, Bolivia, Bulgaria, China, Costa Rica, Cyprus, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Fiji, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malta, Mexico, Namibia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Seychelles, Taiwan, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Venezuela
Requirements for Visa-on-Arrival:
Visitors who enter the Kingdom with Visa on Arrival generally cannot file an application for extension of stay, except in special cases of illness which prevents them from travelling.
