On 3 January 2015, Mr. Piroon Laismit, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar hosted a welcoming dinner at the Ambassador’s residence for Maj.Gen.Intarat Yodbangtoey, Chief Advisor and Honorary President of the Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association of Thailand, Mrs. Boossaba Yodbangtoey, the President of the Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association of Thailand and four weightlifting athletes who are participating in  the 2015 Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championship during 2 - 7 January 2015 in Doha.
 
On this occasion, the Ambassador and the officials of the Embassy had also congratulated Ms. Thidarat Rodking, one of the Thai youth weightlifting athletes, for her success in winning three gold medals from the competition in 58 kg. category on 3 January 2015. Throughout the competition, Thai weightlifting athletes won 10 gold medals and 2 silvers.
