On 20 August 2016, the Royal Thai Embassy, in cooperation with Evolve Wellness Company and Grand Hyatt Doha, organized “Muaythai (Thai Boxing) Roadshow in Qatar” at Grand Hyatt Doha in order to promote Muaythai among Qatari public. The event started with a welcoming remarks by His Excellency Mr. Soonthorn Chaiyindeepum, Ambassador of Thailand, and followed by the briefing about the art of Muaythai, major technique demonstration and Muaythai workshop by 7 Thai boxers and boxing masters. The highlight of the event was three demonstration matches between Thai boxers and local boxers which created cheering and laughing among the crowd throughout the show. This kind of event is new to Qatar and the Embassy looks forward to organizing more interesting Muaythai show and training in the future. There were approximately 300 people participating in the event. It's also the Royal Thai Embassy's great honour and pleasure to welcome Mr. Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, other high level officials from Qatari Governmental authorities, Diplomatic corps, media, registered participants and spectators. This is a good starting point to popularize Muaythai and branding Muaythai as a sport that help maintain a healthy lifestyle in Qatar.
