During 26 - 28 September 2016, Ms. Parichat Phanrakdecha, First Secretary, Royal Thai Embassy in Doha, led Dr. Gerd Nonneman, Professor and Former Dean of Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar, to Thailand to give a lecture on the topic of "The Gulf (GCC) States in a changing Middle East environment: politics, economics and foreign policy” at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and on the similar topic of "Dynamics of change in the Middle East: Politics, Economy and Foreign Policy" with Thai scholars, students and the general public at Thammasat University. The objective of the lectures is to share an in-depth knowledge about the situation in the Middle East as well as the views on the issue of Dr. Gerd Nonneman, a scholar who has extensive knowledge about the situation in the Middle East and the Muslim World. On this occasion, Dr. Gerd Nonneman also visited the Royal Chitralada Project to learn about the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
