On 13 September 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy, in cooperation with the Katara Cultural Village, organized the Thai Classical Crossover Music Show 2018 featuring VieTrio, the first Thai classical crossover music band who can charmingly interpret all genres of music, both Thai and foreign, by the classical music instruments which captivate people of all ages especially younger generation. During the show, VieTrio featured a number of songs composed by His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Thai pop music, jazz and classical music in a very attractive and energetic style of their own. Over 250 audiences including Mr. Rashid Al Dehaimi, representative of Asian Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, foreign Ambassadors to the state of Qatar, diplomats, private sector, representatives from local music schools, journalists and the Thai community in Qatar, attended the show.
During their stay in Qatar, VieTrio also had a chance to present three songs namely Alexandra (Phaen din Khong Rao - Our Motherland), Kangkaw Kin Kluay and Hungarian Dance at over 14 minutes long “Morning Show” program of Al Jazeera Arabic. The program also featured tourism of Thailand, Thai food culture, traditional Thai music and its evolution from being played only by the traditional Thai music instruments to the classical music instruments, creating different but interesting emotion of the songs like never before. The program helps promote Thailand, impressively reaching out to the Qatari and Arabian audiences.
