On 13 August 2024, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Qatar, met with Mr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Al-Moftah, Medical Attaché of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Bangkok. During their meeting, both sides exchanged insights on expanding collaborative networks between Thai medical institutions and their Qatari counterparts. They also discussed ways to improve the facilitation of patient transfers from Qatar to Thailand and promote Thailand as a destination for specialized medical services.
The Royal Thai Embassy is committed to promoting and enhancing Thailand as a global medical and wellness hub for Qataris and residents of Qatar. Thailand has been a preferred destination for Qatari citizens seeking specialized healthcare and annual health check-ups. Notably, Qatar has appointed a Medical Attaché in Thailand to facilitate the care of Qatari patients receiving medical treatment in the country.
