On 17 July 2024, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, along with Embassy officials, met with Engineer Omar Al-Ansari, Secretary General of Qatar Research and Development Innovation Council (QRDI). QDRI is responsible for promoting research, development and innovation (RDI) to address Qatar’s priority areas and goals. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on supporting RDI initiatives in Qatar and Thailand, emphasizing alignment with societal needs and national priorities, and discussed potential for collaboration to promote RDI especially in areas of environmental conservation, food security, and medical and public health innovations.
The Royal Thai Embassy underscores the importance of strengthening networking opportunities between Thailand and Qatar to exchange knowledge and best practices. This collaboration aims to foster tangible cooperation and mutual benefits, advancing RDI efforts toward concrete economic progress, developing entrepreneurship, and promoting an innovation-driven economy.
