On 17 June 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha facilitated a meeting between Mr. Mohammed bin Twar Al Kuwari, First Vice Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Mr. Songsaeng Pathavanich, Advisor to the Board of Trade of Thailand and Vice Chairman of the Middle East and Africa Regional Working Group, at the Office of the Board of Trade of Thailand and the Thai Chamber of Commerce.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on strengthening trade and investment cooperation and explored opportunities to further expand economic relations between Thailand and Qatar. Discussions also focused on the role of the chambers of commerce of both countries in fostering closer business ties, facilitating private sector engagement, and promoting bilateral trade and investment. Thailand and Qatar continue to enjoy robust economic relations. In 2025, bilateral trade reached USD 3.5 billion. Thailand's key imports from Qatar were natural gas, crude oil, and refined petroleum, while Qatar's major imports from Thailand included automobiles, gems and jewellery, and air conditioners.

The Royal Thai Embassy remains committed to advancing trade and investment relations between Thailand and Qatar, including through the promotion of business partnerships, the facilitation of exchanges between relevant agencies and stakeholders, and the organization of activities that create new opportunities for cooperation. These efforts aim to generate tangible economic benefits while further strengthening the longstanding economic partnership between the two countries.
