On 7 May 2025, H.E. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, met with Professor Dr. Zakariya Hama, Director of the Center for Islamic Economics and Finance of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Prince of Songkla University. Professor Dr. Zakariya was in Doha to attend the 26th Session of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy Council as an expert from Thailand on Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) and Islamic Finance. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on potential areas of cooperation between Thailand and Qatar, particularly in the fields of Islamic studies, the application of Islamic financial principles in Thai institutions, and collaboration between arbitration institutes in both countries.
