On 12 May 2026, Mr. Kit Devahastin, Chargé d'Affaires, a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha, hosted a luncheon for Ambassadors of ASEAN Member States in Doha, on the occasion of the Together at the Table: Thailand and Qatar initiative, between 22 April – 9 May 2026. The initiative is a collaboration between the Royal Thai Embassy and Thai restaurants in Qatar aimed at conveying Thailand’s goodwill, care, and friendship towards Qatar through the shared experience of Thai cuisine, while also supporting Qatar’s food security efforts and reflecting the solidarity between the two countries in overcoming challenging times together with resilience and unity.
The initiative seeks to use food as a bridge to connect people, foster mutual understanding, and strengthen people-to-people ties between Thailand and Qatar through the meaningful presentation of Thai cultural identity and culinary heritage. On this occasion, the Royal Thai Embassy wishes to express its sincere appreciation to all participating Thai restaurants, namely Benjarong, Isaan, Khaosan, Pochana, Sabai Thai, Saffron, Sritubtim, Thai Aroi, Thai Kitchen, Thai Snack, The Siam and Tuktuk Saigon.
The Embassy reiterates its commitment to continuing initiatives that support the Thai community in Qatar, promote Thai cultural identity and heritage, and further strengthen the cordial relations and close friendship between Thailand and Qatar, particularly at the people-to-people level.
