The Royal Thai Embassy in Doha will launch an online e-Visa application platform, replacing the current in-person visa application procedures. Effective from 19 March 2024, any national with a Residence Permit in the State of Qatar who wishes to apply for a Thai visa must submit their application, supporting documents, and pay the application fee online through the new online Thai E-Visa platform at https://www.thaievisa.go.th/. Please note that it is no longer required for applicants to submit their passports and original supporting documents at the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha.
After the e-Visa application has been approved, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to applicants. The applicant is kindly requested to print a copy of the confirmation email to be presented at the point of departure and immigration checkpoint in Thailand. All applicants are strongly advised to carefully read the user manual or watch user manual video clips prior to starting the application process.
E-Visa processing time is up to 10 working days and up to 14 working days if required documents are incomplete per application. E-Visa Application Process & Guidelines
- Go to Thai e-Visa Official Website https://www.thaievisa.go.th/
- Create an account. This account can be used for up to 10 applications simultaneously and for future applications.
- Fill in the application form.
- Upload documents according to the type of visa requested. Review personal information, should be as shown in the passport, carefully as it cannot be changed once the application is submitted. The Embassy cannot edit or correct your personal details. The application will be cancelled if personal information is incorrect.
- “Document indicating current location” = Residence permit (QID)
- “Travel booking confirmation” = Two-way plane tickets
- “Proof of accommodation” = Hotel booking/invitation letter from family/friends in Thailand
- Pay visa fee online through the e-Visa System. Successful payment is required to complete the application process.
- Wait for visa processing.
- Receive approved visa by email.
- Review the information on the e-Visa and print out the document for travel presentation.
Important Note:
- Applicants are no longer required to submit their passports and original supporting documents in person at the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha unless requested by the Embassy.
- Provide correct information (names, e-mail address and passport numbers). The information cannot be changed once the application is submitted.
- Visa payments are non-refundable.
- Passport/travel document must have at least 6 months validity from travel date.
- Apply in advance and allow at least 10 working days before the travel date for potential document requests or interviews.
- Provide a correct email address and check regularly for any responses or requests from the Embassy. Untimely responses can delay the visa processing.

- Foreign nationals in Thailand or outside of Qatar cannot apply for e-Visa with the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha.
