On 8 August 2019, H.E. Mr. Nathapol Khantahiran, Ambassador of Thailand to the State of Qatar, attended the ASEAN Day Celebration 2019 at the Embassy of Vietnam in Doha, together with   other ASEAN Ambassadors accredited in Doha (Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam). The activities included ASEAN flag raising ceremony and a remarks by H.E. Nguyen Dinh Thao, Ambassador of Vietnam to the State of Qatar as the 2019 Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Doha, followed by a reception. In his speech, the Ambassador of Vietnam  highlighted several accomplishments of ASEAN throughout its past years and ASEAN under Thailand's Chairmanship in 2019 under the theme "Advancing partnership for sustainability," which aims toward a future-oriented and, seamless and sustainable ASEAN. The Ambassador also underscored ASEAN's partnership with Qatar through the ASEAN-GCC cooperation which covers economic cooperation, trade and investment and exchange of high level visits. The celebration was attended by members of ASEAN diplomatic missions in Doha and local media in Qatar.
