On 8 April 2016, the Royal Thai Embassy to the State of Qatar, in cooperation with the Thai Community in Qatar, organized Songkran Festival or Thai Traditional New Year celebration at the Embassy. Main activities included sprinkling scented water onto Buddha image and paying respect to Lord Buddha's relics enshrined at the Embassy to mark the beginning of the Thai new year filled with propitiousness, good fortunes and prosperity. More than 150 Thai people and Friends of Thailand living in Qatar participated in the ceremony.
