On 20 November 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy in cooperation with other 6 Embassies of ASEAN member countries in Qatar and Shangri-La Hotel, organized the ASEAN Seminar and Food Festival 2017. The event started with the business seminar focusing on trade and investment opportunities the ASEAN countries can offer to the Qatar-based businesses. The Seminar received well support from Mr. Joseph Abraham, Group CEO of Commercial Bank of Qatar, who was the guest speaker of the Seminar on the topic “Qatar Diversification: Trade and Investment Opportunities in ASEAN”. Approximately 100 people including Qatari government officials from authority concerned, Qatar-based companies and journalists attended the Seminar.
After the Seminar, all participants were invited to the ASEAN Food Festival at Sridan restaurant in the Hotel where Asian Ambassadors and their spouses also joined the event. The Festival aimed to promote the food culture of seven ASEAN countries in Qatar including Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippine, Singapore, Vietnam and Brunei. During the Festival, guests were also entertained by the cultural performances of ASEAN countries.
On 22 November 2017, the seven Embassies of ASEAN member countries in Qatar in cooperation with LuLu Hypermarket, organized the ASEAN Food Festival 2017 at LuLu Hypermarket, Al Messila branch, to promote various products imported from the 10 ASEAN member countries. The Food Festival at LuLu Hypermarket and Sridan restaurant of Shangri-La Hotel will last until the end of November 2017.
