On 13 April 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy organized Songkran Festival 2018, Thai New Year, at the Embassy’s premises. A replica of Phra Buddha Sihingha statue was enshrined in front of the Embassy building for the Thai people in Qatar to sprinkle water onto as this symbolizes cleaning and renewal for the coming Thai New Year. On this occasion, food prepared by the Residence of Ambassador and the Thai community was also served for the participants.
