On 7 December 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy and Thai Community in Qatar organized prayer and meditation ceremony to pay homage to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the occasion of His Majesty’s Birthday Anniversary, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand and Thailand's Father's Day. During the ceremony, His Excellency Mr. Nathapol Khantahiran, Ambassador of Thailand, delivered a tribute speech in honour of the late King while Mr. Noppadol Penglong, Chairman of the Thai Community in Qatar, also delivered speech on the significance of the ceremony where it provided opportunity for the Thai community living in Qatar to gather together and reminisce the royal grace of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. After that, a special prayer was prayed and followed by nine minutes meditation as a homage to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Over 80 Thai nationals in Qatar attended the ceremony.
