Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand visited Al Mahad Adeeni (Institute for Religious Studies Preparatory and Secondary School for Boys)

On 10 March 2024, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, along with officials and staff of the Embassy, paid a visit to Al Mahad Adeeni (Institute for Religious Studies Preparatory and Secondary School for Boys). The delegation received a warm welcome from Mr. Abdulla Rashid Al-Nuaimi, the school's director, and the faculty, who provided a brief summary of the school’s development and current curriculum. During the visit, the delegation view the school’s facilities including classrooms, library, laboratory, and gym. In this occasion, the delegation had the opportunity to meet with 20 Thai students who are studying at the school under scholarships from the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs of Qatar.

Established in 1960, the Institute for Religious Studies Preparatory and Secondary School for Boys operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of Qatar, as week as the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs of Qatar. The school offers education in the Arabic language, combining conventional subjects (Math & Science and Humanities/Social Science) with Islamic studies. It places a strong emphasis on principles of diversity, inclusivity, peaceful coexistence, and equality. Currently, the school hosts approximately 400 students from 42 countries, with Thai students (20 students) constituting the 6th largest group.

 The Embassy reaffirms its commitment to the livelihood and well-being of Thai students studying in Qatar, along with the continual enhancement of their skills. Various activities have been initiated for this purpose, including English language teaching programs for Thai students in Qatar, which have been in place since 2017, aimed at enhancing their English language communication skills.
