On 8 March 2024, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, participated in the Doha Ambassadors Football Club tournament, which featured a friendly match between teams of Ambassadors from 4 regions: Africa, Americas, Asia, and Europe. H.E. Ambassador represented the Asia team alongside other esteemed Asian Ambassadors from Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Republic and Australia.
This initiative served as platform to strengthen the bonds between various diplomatic missions in Qatar and promote friendly ties among nations. It aligns with Qatar's dedication to sports diplomacy, underling its commitment to showcasing its sports infrastructure and facilities and its aspiration to host prestigious international sporting events. Sports development is one of the many areas of cooperation in which Thailand could collaborate with Qatar to learn best practices and further pursue mutual interests.
