On 16 January 2025, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Doha, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ms. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, Minister of State for International Cooperation, alongside the Ambassadors and Charge d’Affaires of ASEAN member states’ diplomatic missions in Qatar. The delegation included representatives from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam. The visit was an introductory meeting on the occasion of the Minister's recent assumption of her new position.
During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude to Qatar for its role as a mediator in resolving regional conflicts. He also commended Qatar’s assistance in facilitating the release of Thai nationals. Both sides discussed overall bilateral relations between Thailand and Qatar, celebrating 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year. This milestone presents an excellent opportunity for both sides to enhance cooperation as sustainable development partners, particularly in the areas of mangrove conservation and the upcycling of waste materials, aligning with the goals of Qatar Vision 2030.
