On 4 September 2026, the ASEAN Committee in Doha, in cooperation with the Qatar National Blood Donation Centre, with the Embassy of Malaysia serving as coordinator, organised a blood donation drive.

The activity was attended by H.E. Ms. Pensom Lertsithichai, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, together with officials and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy and members of the Thai community in Qatar. Approximately 100 participants registered for the activity, including Ambassadors, diplomats, staff members, their families, and members of ASEAN community residing in Doha, representing Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

 The initiative reflected the solidarity and unity of the ASEAN community in Doha while promoting shared values of volunteerism, social responsibility, and humanitarianism. It also served as a meaningful example of cooperation between the ASEAN community and Qatari institutions in supporting blood donation for the benefit of the wider community.
