On 14 January 2024, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, attended the launch of the book "Atlas Asian Cup Qatar 2023". This bilingual (English-Arabic) book focuses on the organization of the 18th AFC Asian Cup, hosted by Qatar. Dr. Thani Bin Ali Al Thani and Dr. Bouthina Hassan Alansari served as the editors of the book. The authors aimed to document the historical significance of the 18th AFC Asian Cup in Qatar, showcasing a comprehensive overview of Qatar's preparations as the host nation and the history of participating countries. This year, the Thai national football team successfully qualified for the competition, securing a spot among the final 24 teams.
The Royal Thai Embassy commends and supports Qatar's role as a host for international conferences and sport competitions, contributing to the fostering international relationships through sports diplomacy and enhancing mutual cooperation through people-to-people engagement.
