On 5 February 2024, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar and his spouse attended the opening ceremony of the 20th Doha Jewelry and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) at the DECC. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

DJWE, organized annually by Qatar Tourism, stands as Qatar’s largest trade fair for jewelries and watches, featuring over 500 international luxury jewelry companies and independent entrepreneurs. During the event, H.E. the Ambassador had the opportunity to meet with Thai jewelry entrepreneurs, where they exchanged insights on conducting business in the region and explored opportunities for Thai jewelry industry.

The Royal Thai Embassy reaffirms its commitment to promote tangible economic interests of Thailand, especially in expanding international trade. Thai gemstones and jewelry have long been renowned in the region for their quality. In 2023, total exports of gemstones and jewelry from Thailand to the Middle East amounted to 530 million US dollars, making it Thailand’s second-largest export to Qatar.
