On 6 February 2024, H.E. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, hosted a working luncheon for the delegation from SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited (PCL). Officials of the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha also attended. Both sides exchanged views on expanding collaborative engagement with Qatar, particularly with QatarEnergy. QatarEnergy is Qatar’s sole state-owned Energy enterprise, overseeing all operations and exports of hydrocarbon products in Qatar, and providing comprehensive solutions for energy-related infrastructure projects. Thailand is a major importer of hydrocarbon products from Qatar, including liquified natural gas (LNG), liquified petroleum gas (LPG), crude oil, and naphtha. These products are essential as fuel and feedstock for power generation and components for various industrial products.
SCGC PCL is one of Thailand’s leading companies in the polymer industry, which is an essential component in various industry ranging from daily items such as food packaging, auto parts, medical equipment and electrical appliances to infrastructures such as pressure-resistant pipes and telecommunication cables.
