On 17 September 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha organized the 2nd Team Thailand meeting of the year via video conference. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, and included representatives from various Thai agencies responsible for the State of Qatar, including those based in Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. Mrs. Alisa Suparb, Minister Counsellor (Labour Affairs) at the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi, which also oversees Qatar, jointed the meeting at the Embassy during her visit to Qatar from 16 – 18 September 2024.
The meeting provided an opportunity for participants to share updates on their offices’ activities and discuss strategies for enhancing cooperation in the upcoming fiscal year. Key topics included strengthening Thailand-Qatar relations in political and security affairs, promoting Thai trade and entrepreneurship in Qatar, expanding the presence of Thai restaurants under the Thai SELECT program, offering consular support for Thai nationals, protecting the rights of Thai labor, boosting bilateral investment, and enhancing Thai tourism in the region.
The Royal Thai Embassy in Doha organized this Team Thailand Meeting to facilitate information exchange and promote collaborative efforts among the Thai agencies responsible for Qatar. The objective is to synergize their working dynamics and align their efforts with Thailand's overarching goals of strengthening relations with Qatar.
