On Tuesday, 8 August 2017, the Ambassador of Thailand to the State of Qatar, as Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Doha (ACD), hosted the Flag Raising Ceremony to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) at the Royal Thai Embassy. The event was attended by the Ambassadors of Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore Vietnam and Charge d’Affaires a.i. of Malaysia. His Excellency Ambassador Ibrahim Yousif Abdullah Fahkroo, Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, distinguished guests from business sector, ASEAN community leaders, academic and local media also attended the Ceremony.  

 

The Ceremony started with welcoming remarks by His Excellency Mr. Soonthorn Chaiyindeepum, Ambassador of Thailand and Chairman of the ACD, followed by the playing of Qatar national anthem, ASEAN anthem and ASEAN Flag Raising Ceremony, and concluded with a cake cutting and reception to celebrate this special occasion.
