On 5 October 2017, Mr. Pichaya Saisaengchan, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Dubai Office, and his officers visited the State of Qatar to meet with the executives of Qatar Airways and Al Jazeera as well as representatives of travel agents to discuss Thailand tourism promotional plan in the Middle East market. 

 

In the evening, H.E. Mr. Soonthorn Chaiyindeepum hosted dinner to welcome Mr. Pichaya Saisaengchan. Both sides also discussed and exchanged views on the current Thailand tourism market in the Middle East, the future Thailand tourism promotional plan and cooperation between the Embassy and the Office in promoting Thai culture in Qatar. In this regard, the Thai side welcomes the launching of an air service between Doha and Chiang Mai which will commence in December 2017.
