On 8 November 2023, H.E. Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Qatar, met with Mr. Hasan Samoh and Mr. Husein Samoh, Thai students who represented Thailand in the International Quran Recital Competition, organized by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs of Qatar. H.E. Ambassador commended the students’ mastery of the Arabic language and the knowledge of the Quran and praised their role as the representation of Thailand and the only Asian country in the competition.

The Quran Recital is a branch of study in Islamic jurisprudence which has been taught for over 1,000 years and plays an important role to protect and assure the integrity of the Quran, especially during the time where documentation and printing technology were not yet introduced. Both students have also represented Thailand in other competitions, where they have won the competition in Sudan and Canada.
